Our electric car overview above shows all currently available models, from compact city cars like the Fiat 500e through the mid-range (Tesla Model 3, Audi Q4 e-tron) to premium models. The selection is continuously expanded.
At simpcar, a charging card is part of the standard package for all electric cars on subscription. It lets you charge at most public charging stations in Switzerland; billing runs transparently through us.
With a typical consumption of 18 kWh/100 km and home charging (CHF 0.25/kWh), electricity costs come to around CHF 4.50 per 100 km. At public DC fast-charging stations it's more like CHF 11–12 per 100 km – comparable to a petrol car.
In a car subscription, simpcar bears the warranty and the economic risk of the battery. If a defect occurs, you receive a replacement vehicle and the repair is covered. With a purchase, this would be a significant financial risk once the manufacturer's warranty expires.
It can be worthwhile, but it's more demanding. Check the charging infrastructure in your area beforehand and expect higher electricity costs from public charging. In urban areas it's usually feasible, in rural areas often more difficult. More details in the EV car subscription practical guide.
